Dear Visitor:
Happy Independence Day! Today, here in the good old USA, is not about fireworks, barbecues, water sports, etc. Or is it? I am afraid the answer is, "It shouldn't be, but it is!"
Today is about throwing off tyranny. It is about freedom and liberty. Our Constitution isn't about what rights we received, it is about the very limited rights we ceded to the government. Right and Left aren't about liberal views and conservative views; at least that isn't the way our founding fathers saw it. They saw right and left as the fight between anarchy and tyranny. They wanted a balance in the middle. They wanted enough government for society to work, but no more. It is a bit like Einstein saying, "Things should be made as simple as possible, no simpler."
If you look at our founding fathers, the argument wasn't that the government gave us rights, it was that we gave rights to the government so society could work. Example, we gave enough rights to the government for courts and punishment to work in cases that made sense: theft, murder, rape, etc.
Look at our government today, Democrat or Republican, it is about power. It is about taking your rights and property away. Next year, in the election, remember the real meaning of Independence Day. Vote EVERYONE out of office who you can. Why? Aren't there at least a few good representatives in both houses on both sides of the aisle? Maybe, but they have proven ineffective in the last 6 years or so. Clean the House and the Senate. Send the bums packing! Declare your independence from parties who do not serve the people.
Sincerely, Trever Adams
