I personally love martial arts. I do enjoy the sage words that many hate. I believe there is something to ancient wisdom; when it is authentic. Twice now I have been nearly green belt in Tae Kwon Do. I have had to quit for physical reasons. After working with chiropractors and doctors for several years, I am nearly to the point I will be able to go back to it... this time to stay with it. (Though I may go to jujitsu first.)
I am a deeply spiritual person. It is my belief that one must find truth for themselves. I took the time to search and do this when I was 13 to 16 years old. At first it frustrated my parents, eventually they let me alone to follow my own path. It ended where I started. In my spiritual beliefs, I find that capitalism is fine and good. The problem arises with dishonesty, excessive greed, and lack of purpose. Sell what you will, but it better be adding to the wellbeing of those you sell to.
I also tend to believe in what can be called walkabout. The idea is, you take a journey. You keep traveling, learning, thinking and meditating... until the day you run into (find) yourself. At this point, you need to sit down and have a good, long chat with yourself. This may be a literal or figurative journey and process. Many people only need to do this once. For others, it may be needed multiple times in their lives. I really don't know the reason for this.
I think the Native Americans also had it right. I do believe there is something to these dream quests. I do not think they should be induced with any drug. They should be induced through deep meditation and lucid dreaming alone. The results of these dream quests should be held as highly sacred and personal. They are between you, your inner self and your Maker. Such a relationship should only be shared when the inner self and The Maker are in agreement that it is good.
I like many others believe the world can be made a good and wonderful place. I do plan on doing many things to effect this. I hope to someday start a city from scratch. (Yes, this may just be a fanciful dream, but in the process of chasing it, I will be making a difference.) Though this is a wonderful dream, it alone cannot do anything. Humans are too resistant to change for a change to be forced from the outside. Humans can be lead and changed through subtle environmental changes. I believe, within my heart, that if more people would say more than "Oh, what the hell, I cannot change the world, so I will be just like them," that we might get somewhere. People MUST act. Begin with yourself. Change yourself from the inside out. This will be a long journey. After this, change your family. Take time to be together as a family; to play together, to work together and to relax together. At this point, take time with your neighbors. Share your love and happiness with them. Share the simple, but wonderful things with them. Don't let fear get in your way. ONE MUST TAKE A STAND!
I personally believe there are few mistakes that one cannot change from. On all else, once one tries to repay the debt (including whatever the law requires within a reasonable amount of time and punishment), that they are free and clear of that mistake. One should do the best they can to forget it and forgive themselves at this point. All else should forget and forgive as well. To do otherwise places us in an awkward position. One where we deny others what we demand for ourselves. I once read in a book the following (or something VERY similar):
If modesty requires one to not boast of one's achievements, surely a similar veil of decency may be drawn over one's mistakes. Please, let people change. Let them grow and progress. The only ones, if any, that we should deny such a veil, is those who refuse to change... or to at least try. I personally try hard to even grant them such a veil.
Honestly, I do not know what else, that isn't on this site somewhere else, that someone would want to know of me... at least that I would like them to. If I receive a question enough times by email, I may post a new page or paragraph on here. In more complete honesty, this site was done for a few reasons. It was designed to help business I work with, by providing links and advertising of sorts. It was also done as a method of drumming up new consulting and contract work. This has worked in the past for me, but that was several years ago. I turned down the offer to work to do the software and site for one of the first on-line gambling firms (if I ever bother restoring my MS Windows™ partition I can provide evidence of this on request) simply because I believe gambling is morally wrong.
