Dear Visitor:

I have become alarmed and scared over the last few years. Why? Because it seems to me that hobbies and activities have gone out the window. It seems that there are two or three things people do with their spare time (leaving out obviously illegal ones); they are: watching T.V., watching movies (in the home or at the theater), or playing video games.

Regardless of all the studies that prove such things can be harmful, especially in excess (which seems to be what it usually is), I find this to be alarming. Between MTV and similar things, it seems those who watch and play such things are becoming more and more arrogant, rude, stupid, and down right foolish.

Whatever happened to hobbies that helped one learn, have fun and develop at the same time? Whatever happened to stamp collecting or coin collecting? Whatever happened to camping, hiking, gardening, etc.

I urge you, as a visitor to this site, find a hobby, find an activity and do it. I can all but guarantee you that you will have a happier, better life as a result.

P.S. Sorry if I seem high and mighty in this letter. I have been very frustrated with some things lately.
