Dear Visitor:
Years ago, I tried to convince my grandfather to let me do his life history. He agreed, but due to lack of interest in the rest of the family, a lack of time and money (for the method I wanted to do it) the project never went anywhere. I am still kicking myself for this, but the situation is shortly to be a bit brighter.
A few years after this (maybe 5), my father asked my grandfather the same question. My grandfather agreed. My father spent months on the phone with my grandfather, recording everything. He then spent the last few years transcribing, organizing, and adding appropriate photos, diagrams, etc. My father believes he will have it published soon.
One of the most exciting facts about this book my dad did, not only does it cover nearly all, if not all, of the things I wanted to cover, but my grandfather is an excellent historian for the area in which he was born and has lived his life. There are things he knows that have all but been forgotten. My father has helped him gather many of these things and they will be in the book.
I like knowing who I am, where I came from and what makes my family what it is. I can't wait to read this book and to be able to share it with my family as it grows. I encourage anyone who is slightly interested in this topic to begin doing their genealogy, including writing life histories. Please, do it before the information dies with someone, as often happens.
Sincerely, Trever Adams
