I am nervous sharing this poem. People have misunderstood it. This is also the first poem I have posted online. It is mine, I do not want it stolen. It is about how people hide beauty with makeup, excessive jewelry and other such things.
It isn't about death, depression or any such thing.
Mask Removed
The true face hidden,
Nature obscured.
Distraction assured.
Lovers do sadden.
Enlightenment or night,
Off comes foolish lies,
distraction laid aside;
Behold the great sight.
Fancy clothes gone,
simplicity donned.
Personality shown,
behold beauty doth dawn.
The mask is pealed,
The face is restored,
Pretense abandoned;
Simple beauty revealed.
